Online Shopping (One week into NaNo2010)

Wow, before I even get into what I am going to talk about, I have to say that I love my keyboard so much. It is just so freaking amazing. (See, I comment about the keyboards of computers all the time at school, and people just look at me strangely and ask how there is any difference between keyboards.)

Now, onto what this blog post is about.

I do the majority of my shopping online, mostly because it has some really freaking awesome stuff. I am currently shopping online* instead of working on my novel.** I just remembered that I can use my blog to procrastinate, so I'm going to tell you about my online shopping process.

First, I go through the website and add absolutely everything that looks cool. It doesn't matter how much it costs or whether or not I need/will use it.

Next, I go through and get rid of those things that I would never use and/or the things that are way too expensive.

I'm currently at the third step in the process, which is often the longest, where I debate about whether or not to get everything. I don't like spending a lot online, and try to keep my total (without shipping) under $30. Right now, on the NaNo website, I'm really questioning whether or not to get this one shirt that is $20. But it would leave my total above $30, because I am already getting the buttons and the "No Plot! No Problem!" book.

This is a fine time to have this dilemma, as it is almost time for the holidays. My family is always bugging me about what to get me for Christmas, because I've suddenly stopped becoming easy to shop for. Meaning, of course, that they can't just grab some random Littelest Pet Shop thing and expect me to be happy. Last year, I really only asked for iTunes gift cards and money. No one was happy about this.

This year, I will have plenty of things to ask for. So, instead of getting that album or shirt or poster right now, I'm just going to add it to my list.

Obviously, there is one last step to the shopping process, and that is paying for everything. But I assume you don't need me to describe that.

I'm not a girl who is particularly into shopping, but online shopping is a whole other matter.

Now, I'm off to pay for my stuff and get back to my novel!

*and blogging, I suppose
**but I'm shopping on the NaNoWriMo website, so I think that counts for something.
***I am legitimately surprised that I have not used that already. Hmmm.
