FiveTeenVloggers

So... Um... I'm kind of Wednesday on FiveTeenVloggers.

I KNOW RIGHT?! I mean... I guess... I'm a good vlogger, I s'pose? I don't know.

I'm super excited for this. And I'm talking to Jorgina on Facebook, and squeeing every time someone new comments on the 5TVResults video... And, just... Gahhh.

(Also, I apologize for not telling any of you about this sooner, because I've known for a few days now. But I was sworn to secrecy. Not really. Will just asked me not to tell anyone, which is good, because you all know that I would've blogged and/or tweeted about it right away.)

Reaction: The Pandorica Opens

And... So... Wait... What?

This reaction will mainly consist of questions:

The Doctor is the most dangerous thing in the universe? Robot/Alien/Roman Rory just killed Amy? They formed an alliance? How? How could they possibly all be getting along? The Tardis is exploding/exploded already? What does River have to do with anything? How will the Doctor get out of the Pandorica? Will he be in there forever? Will that song that Charlie made make sense to me after I finish this next episode?

Episode Rating: 9.6/10 (For Rory nostalgia. Lower score because of the confusion and non-conclusion. And rhyming. Rhyming is lame. Bow ties are cool.)
Prediction: WHAT?!

Reaction: The Lodger

I liked this episode. It had a creepy feel to it. I enjoyed the new characters in this episode.

Can you believe that I'm almost done with all of the episodes? It's only been a day! I'll definitely finish with them before the end of the week, probably tomorrow.

Episode Rating: 9.8/10 (Pretty good episode. I loved how the Doctor desperately tried to fit in.)
Prediction: Oh God, another crack! Now I'm almost positive it has something to do with where the Doctor goes. Also, Amy just found her engagement ring. I hope that means Rory will be discussed soon.

Reaction: Vincent and the Doctor

This is my absolute favorite episode so far. Well, maybe tied with the first one. BUT STILL.

Through most of it, I only thought it was okay and found that it would be pretty forgettable. And then they brought Vincent to the present.

I bawled.

As an artist (well, author. But it's pretty much an artist with words), that scene just totally got to me. I can just imagine how amazing and surreal it would be to go to the future and see that your under-appreciated art will be considered some of the best ever. I just <3

Episode Rating: 10/10 (Favorite episode. Yes.)
Prediction: All of the times that the Doctor accidentally referenced Rory got me sad :( So I hope we hear something about him again.

Reaction: The Hungry Earth and Cold Blood

I'm talking about them together because they are really just one episode split into two parts. Also, I was too lazy to write my reaction immediately after The Hungry Earth. Anyway.

I liked this. I had a feeling that it would be weird, but I liked it anyway.

I am now really, really worried about what happened to Rory and what that means. He can't really be gone, can he? And, can't they just go back in time and grab him before he was killed? Side note: "I'm sorry," are really great last words.

Episode Rating(s): 9.3/10 and 9.4/10 (Strange, but I still liked it.)
Prediction: I knew that the Doctor had something to do with the cracks! He found that piece of the Tardis in there!

Reaction: Amy's Choice

I. KNEW. IT. I don't know how I knew it, but I knew it. I knew that they were both dreams. I had no real explanation for it, but I knew it. This makes me happy.

This was a really, really good episode, and I'm glad that Amy chose Rory, y'know?

I don't have much else to say, really.

Episode Rating: 9.8/10 (Loved it.)
Prediction: I've got nothing. Sorry. This was a brilliant episode, but did nothing to further the plot line with the cracks and such.

Reaction: The Vampires of Venice

EFF YEAH RORY!

I adore Rory in this episode! He has some of the best lines and does some of the funniest things. Saving the day with "Your Mum" jokes. Holding up a cross to scare away an alien fish. Love <3

I'm excited to have him as part of the little Tardis family, and can't wait to get to know his character more.

Besides Rory, the plot was fantastic and I enjoy seeing how much the Doctor cares for the human race, even allowing the extinction of others to save it.

Episode Rating: 9.6/10 (Without Rory, this episode would've been nothing. Just sayin'.)
Prediction: At this point, I have no idea. I imagine that we'll keep hearing about these cracks and silence. I'm wondering if the Doctor is causing them, or if it's just coincidence that they keep showing up everywhere that he leaves.

Reaction: Flesh and Stone

This episode was brilliant. I loved it so, so much!

We keep hearing about this Pandorica, but I still have no idea what it is. Also, the Angels are beyond scary.

Awwws, Amy and the Doctor :) That was long overdue. Just sayin'.

Episode Rating: 9.9/10 (I realize that it seems like I didn't like it much because I didn't write a lot about it, but I just can't wait to watch the next episode.)
Prediction: I imagine that they'll be finding Rory soon. Other than that, nothing.

Reaction: The Time of Angels

Um, can you say CLIFFHANGER? Gahhhh, the ending nearly killed me. This was the first episode that I watched on an actual TV as opposed to my laptop, so I didn't see how long the episode was or how much of it I had watched already. So I was completely unprepared for it to end.

This was a really, really good episode. I was really freaking out when Amy was trapped in that room thing with the image of the Angel.

I don't have much else to say. I NEED TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!

Episode Rating: 9.4/10 (Fantastic, but the non-conclusion docks it a few points. I'm sure that the next episode will be rated higher)
Prediction: Well, we better get out of there, away from the angels, and off that planet! And what's with that lady-what's-her-name? What does she have to do with the Doctor? I don't think she's his future wife like Amy seems to think.

Reaction: Victory of the Daleks

I like all of the history references in this episode. But, of course, being a teenaged, ignorant American, I had to look up some things on Wikipedia in the middle of it. But I digress.

I'm going to continue to admire Amy as a character. Her thinking is so different from the Doctor's, and lately, that's been saving them. Like, sure, love of your family is strong, but infatuation is amazingly powerful and human.

I can't wait to see what's going to happen next, because it has something to do with the Angels. All the Doctor Who fans that I know (online, but still) cringe and look immediately afraid every time they see one of them, and I really want to relate.

Episode Rating: 8.7/10 (Very good episode, but still not comparable to the first.)
Prediction: Another crack! Why do they keep popping up every time the Doctor leaves somewhere? Also, Amy can't avoid her wedding forever. Well, I guess she could. But she SHOULDN'T. And, what did the Doctor mean by she should've "already seen them?" (This Prediction section should really just turn into, "Muse About the Episode and Ask Questions that You Don't Want Anyone to Answer" because I ultimately fail at actually predicting anything)

Reaction: The Beast Below

Just... gahhhhh. I love this show. I love this show. I LOVE THIS SHOW.

Again, I'm going to compare Doctor Who to LOST. This time, in a different way. LOST is a very confusing show, with a bunch of different details that are normally hard to keep track of. Sometimes, it takes multiple episodes, multiple seasons to figure out what they mean. But when it all comes together, you completely see where it was coming from, although you could've never predicted it before. This episode just did that.

I really like Amy. She's really relatable, maybe just to me. If the Doctor had came to me one night, promising to be back in five minutes, but never turning up, I would probably react the same. In this episode, I love how she's fallible, yet still able to figure out what to do in the end. As a writer, I also find myself admiring the development of her character, which is just fantastic.

I also need to say how much I love the Doctor right now. Every time I see him, I just smile. And it's not because of Matt Smith and his adorableness, but I'm sure that's part of it. It's just his mannerisms, and how cool he is with everything. He's just interested in finding everything out, but doesn't get too worried. (Well, usually. Until the climax of this episode.) Are all of the Doctors like this, or are those just traits of the Eleventh Doctor?

Episode Rating: 9.6/10 (I still liked the first episode better, but I really enjoyed how confusing this episode was. I'm tired of being able to figure everything out right away like I can with other shows that I watch.)
Prediction: ZOMG IT'S ANOTHER CRACK. I remember that has something to do with the Pandorica, but I don't even know what that is. And now I'm also left wondering when Amy's going to tell the Doctor about her WEDDING WHICH SHE SHOULD GO TO. Yeah. No real predictions, really. Sorry.

Reaction: The Eleventh Hour

I'm in love.

I'm in love with The Doctor as a character. I'm in love with Amy. I'm in love with Rory. I'm in love with the freakin' Tardis. I'm in love with this episode. I'm in love with THIS SHOW.

WHY did I wait so long to start watching this? It was, in one word, amazing.

I don't really want to just babble on about the plot, but more about how it made me feel. Remember LOST? My favorite "adult"* show that ended earlier this year? It always made me feel this excitement after each episode. It made me stay up late into the night thinking about it. Since this spring, Doctor Who is the first show that has made me feel like that again. I really thought that I had lost this wonderful sensation forever. But I have not.

I am so excited to watch the next episode. So I'm going to. Tonight. Yeah, it's late. But it's not like I have school or anything tomorrow. You'll see my next reaction either later tonight, or most likely, early tomorrow morning.

Episode Rating: 10/10 (I have nothing else to compare it to. It was awesome and amazing and gahhh. Thus, 10)
Prediction: Yay wedding dress! Considering how well The Doctor has been at showing up on time (5 minutes = 12, then 14 years?!) I think that he won't have Amy back in time to get married. Other than that, no predictions of any sort.

Frequent Posts and AN ANNOUNCEMENT

Two posts in one day ftw?

Yes. I got the complete Fifth Series of Doctor Who for Christmas :)

You all know what this means!* Yes! Doctor Who Reaction Blog Posts! I'm going to start on The Eleventh Hour in a few minutes, and will probably write my reaction tomorrow. I'm not sure how frequently I will be blogging my reactions, because I have a lot of big projects due in January. But you'll get some, I assure you. I'll use Doctor Who as a reward.

This will be my first time watching Doctor Who at all. I'm not sure if I'll be completely confused since I'm not starting at the beginning, but I'll deal. I'm going to watch all of the previous series eventually.

I look forward to eventually understanding Chameleon Circuit songs.

"It's completely terrifying, but it's so, so exciting. He said I was brilliant and I could change the world. So many places I've been; there's so much more to see. We've got galaxies and planets and moons... And an awful lot of running to do." - An Awful Lot of Running, Chameleon Circuit

*Well, maybe not.

Jess auditions for FiveTeenVloggers

Wish me luck, everybody! Will is going to make his decision before the New Year!

I won't be really upset at all if I don't get chosen, because there are some seriously interesting, funny, and awesome people that also auditioned. Like I said, even if I don't get picked, I want to get to know everyone who does.

The best fanfic EVER

Probably my favorite piece of fanfiction of all time, Must Have Done Something Right by MissPronounced, is going to update today. And I'm so excited about it that I need to find things to do so I don't become the first person to succumb to death by squeeing.*

It's a Harry Potter fanfic, but with next-gen characters. I prefer next-gen, just because it really gives the authors creativity room, and I don't yell about canon problems. Yeah. Must Have Done Something Right is centered around Scorp** and Al***. I love the interpretations of the characters; they really have personality and relatable qualities. The plot is just fantastic. It describes modern-day problems like bullying. This bullying is aimed towards Scorp, who is openly gay. Al becomes this totally awesome**** friend and stuff, defending him.*****

I'm not doing it justice by describing it. But, then again, when do I ever give totally awesome****** things the justice they deserve?

You should check it out:

Also, it IS rated M, but don't let that scare you away. There isn't anything explicit. So far :P
(And what is explicit just has to do with the bullying)

Kbye. Excitement. Yeah.

"And I know that it's so cliched to tell you everyday I spend with you is the new best day of my life... And everyone watching us just turns away with disgust; this jealousy, they can see that we've got it going on." - Must Have Done Something Right, Relient K

*Go back and read that sentence again. lolololololol
**Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy. Draco's son. In this story, he's uber-gay and in Slytherin.
***Albus Severus Potter. Harry's second son. The one in the Epilogue that has black hair and green eyes and worried about being sorted into Slytherin. In this story, yeah, he's a Slytherin.
****AVPM reference? I don't know. I think I just put "totally" in front of "awesome" automatically now.
*****Also, he may or may not be attracted to Scorp, and THIS WILL BE FOUND OUT IN THE NEXT UPDATE AND GAHHHHH.
******See what I mean?

Is it even LEGAL to be part of two collabs?

...I hope so.

So, there's this new collab on YouTube. It's called FiveTeenVloggers... And... I... I want to audition.

Am I even allowed to do that? Is that breaking some sort of unspoken Internet rule? I mean... I don't know.

I'm going to audition. Yeah. I'm going to. Anyway, it's pretty unlikely that I'll even get in, because, y'know... It's me. Me and my fail videos.* But, if I did... I think it would be a great experience. I'm not going to give up NEA for anything. But I could make friends there. FRIENDS.**

This is good motivation for me to make a video, anyway, because the auditions need to be up before the 28th.

I'm going to clean my room

I was supposed to clean my room weeks, if not months ago, actually. But I didn't because I'm lazy and you all know that. But my mom is now forcing me to clean my room this weekend. I had agreed, but for some reason I overlooked the fact that I would be spamwowing Project for Awesome videos. And you simply can't clean while spamwowing. It just isn't possible.

Project for Awesome has been supremely awesome so far. I've heard complaints about there not being a livestream during the entire thing, but I like the random uploads of video more, because you constantly have to stay alert for more news. Also, crappy cut-out-y internet isn't a problem with this. And, in less than two hours, there will be this awesome livestream show. I'm not exactly sure what's going to happen during it, but I do know that ALL CAPS is going to perform, so that's exciting.

To raise money, Project for Awesome is raffling off this really amazing prizes. Like, for $5, you could win John's Nerd Glasses. For $10, you could win Wheezy's Kids' Keyboard. For $15, you could win Nerimon's Twilight Book. For $20, you could have Hank's next album named after you. For $25, you could win an ARC of Maureen Johnson's next book, The Last Little Blue Envelope, complete with notes on the writing of it. For $30, you could co-write an ALL CAPS song. For $40, you could win MysteryGuitarMan's signed guitar.

The prizes are insane. I knew that I wanted to get one, and also that I wanted to help donate. But I'm kind of a greedy person, and I didn't want to not win a prize. SO, I decided to spend $25 on a raffle for a copy of John Green's Zombie Apocalypse novel. Everyone who buys a raffle of his gets a digital copy of the book, and the winner gets the only printed copy. I've been looking forward to reading this book since he first read a bit of it on a live show one time, and was so excited that they chose it as a P4A prize.

I told my mom that I wanted to buy a raffle for it, because I kind of need her credit card to donate. We made a deal. If I make my room completely spotless by Sunday night, I don't have to pay her back the $25. But if I don't, I have to pay her. Note: I DO NOT HAVE $25 TO SPEND. So, yeah. I need to clean my room.

I also have to do homework, because my math teacher's logic is that he should give us more homework over the weekend because then we have three nights to do it instead of one. So, I'm doing my homework tonight before the livestream, and then I'm dedicating all of tomorrow to clean.

Long update is long? Yeah.

Project For Awesome!

Happy #p4a day!

I was considering making a video for Project for Awesome, but I got sick this week, and never really found time for it. But I'm showing my support by commenting and liking #p4a videos, and occasionally, favoriting them.

On Sunday, I'll have a post up with my favorite Project for Awesome videos. I have to keep track of all of this stuff, because I'm writing an article about it for my school newspaper. Though my school is mostly inhabited by decepticons,* this is really important to me, and my newspaper advisor is always saying to write about something that you are passionate about. SO that's what I'm doing.

Also, I have at least one video, and two more blog posts to put up on here. I'm getting organized this weekend.

*There are two nerdfighters in my school that I know of. My friend Will and I. Yeah. That's it.

I haven't blogged since November

...Sorry about that.

But I have a good excuse! I was doing NaNoWriMo! This was my first real year doing NaNo, because last year I only had a goal of 15,000 words. I wrote more than that in a day this year. Yeah.

What was weird was that I had absolutely no problems with my inner editor. I don't even think he exists anymore. (Yes, mine is a guy.) Now that I think about it, I don't remember ever hearing anything from my inner editor since December 1, 2009. Awesome.

Unlike last year, I do not hate writing right now. I am itching to start on two more short stories, one of which is actually an assignment for my Civics class. But I'm not going to tell myself that, because if I keep it as a form of procrastination, it will get done quicker. I'm excited about that short story, because I'm going to be using my characters from my Screnzy 2010 screenplay. Those characters are amazingly developed. The second short story is really based on the song Georgia by Alex Day. I'm basically creating a whole backstory on Georgia, and why anyone would want her to leave.

It's almost time for Christmas! I'm really happy about that, because I really have an urge to give presents instead of receive them. I still want to receive them, though, because some of the things that I'm getting include Eddplant's album, a ukulele, and the green ALL CAPS holiday shirt.

Next Sunday, I'm going to be at the Philadelphia Yule Ball! It's organized by Harry and the Potters. Whompy and JFF are going to be there, as well as some bands that I need to look up so I can learn some of their songs. I just got my dress for it yesterday, and it is amazing and I love it.

I'm not sure what else to say. OH! Is anyone else watching Glee right now? I'm kind of in love with Darren's character, and I can't wait for the holiday episode on Tuesday.
